Masjid Quba: The First Mosque, The First Worship, The First Blessing

Masjid Quba is the first mosque in Islam, built by Prophet Muhammad in 622 CE during the Hijrah to Medina. Located in Quba, near Medina, Saudi Arabia. Beneath the peaceful skies of Madinah Munawwarah lies a place away from daily noise and crowds — Masjid Quba. This mosque is not merely a structure of stone and brick — it is a symbol of Islamic history, new beginnings, and one of the most beloved reminders of our personal faith.

The Honor of Masjid Quba in the Light of Qur'an & Hadith Allah Ta'ala mentions Masjid Quba with special honor: "The mosque founded upon righteousness from the first day is more worthy for you to stand in." — Surah At-Tawbah, Ayah 108

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: **** "Whoever performs ablution at home, then goes to Masjid Quba and offers two rak'ahs of prayer, he will receive the reward of a complete Umrah."****— Tirmidhi

Meaning, praying in Masjid Quba is not just any prayer — it is a prayer filled with immense reward and blessing

Quba: The First Mosque After Hijrah & the Beginning of Islamic Civilization When Rasulullah ﷺ migrated from Makkah, traveling through the valleys of Arafat and the paths of Mina, he arrived near Madinah and immediately instructed the construction of the first mosque — Masjid Quba.

After the Prophet ﷺ arrived in Madinah, he established this mosque not only as a place of prayer, but also as the center for governance, social affairs, community gatherings, and cultural guidance. It was a place where the ruler and the people sat together, where the commands of Allah were taught, and where the blessed companionship between the Prophet ﷺ and the Sahabah bloomed.

Rasulullah ﷺ would welcome visitors here, deliver guidance here, and teach the commands of Allah from this very spot. He would lead by example — practicing first, then instructing others. Any news the community needed to hear was often delivered from within this graceful mosque.

From its very first brick until today, Masjid Quba remains alive — in the hearts of Bengali-speaking Muslims and in every home across the Muslim world.
